Lets Talk About Ope's Opinions

Let's Talk About God And What Gender She Is

Recently, a radical Nigerian feminist popularly known for falsely accusing men of rape tweeted a post that shook a lot of tables and took jabs at Nigerian churches and some men. She insinuated that God is a He and if God can be called a He then He might as well be referred to as a SHE. While a whole bunch of Nigerians are making mockery and jest of her because they believe she’s spewing utter folly, I actually believe she has a valid point and for some weird reasons, I actually agree with what she’s saying.

Those who know me would know that I enjoy asking religious questions that go against the norm and in this girls tweet she basically did the same thing. The Christian religion says God is a spiritual being and spirits don’t have sex, neither do they eat or drink or do any other physical pleasures we mortals engage in. Basically, God is genderless but on All occasions, the holy book refers to God as Him, Our Father, He etc. The bible basically paints God as a man and even buttresses this with the creation story when God said ‘Let us make man in our image’.

She mentioned that God transcends gender, that’s very true. What makes a man and a woman different are their genitals and from all indications, God doesn’t have genitals so again, He’s neither man nor woman. The lady’s point here is, since God isn’t technically a man and we all refer to him as a man why can’t we then call him a woman?

NIGERIAN MEN ARE TIRED OF CHURCH GIRLS

Where I have a problem with her is the part of her shaming people who don’t agree with her saying they won’t do it because they have a lowly view of women, we all know she’s obviously referring to men in this case. As I’ve mentioned before, these radical feminists are bullies who would not shy away from shaming people who don’t share their ideologies and they would shame it with alternative facts.

In conclusion, while I believe she has a very valid point that should be researched on and expatiated upon, she should refrain from bullying and shaming people into following and believing her ideology. Then again, isn’t that the way of the modern radical feminist, to bully and shame people who don’t share their views?

  1. While I am not totally sure im comfy with the gender of God as a woman, I see the point made. I also agree to all these feminists bullying and shaming people into buying their own ideas. I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion and just because someone doesnt share the same views with u, does not give u the right to bully the person. But hey, na d situation wey we dey so.
