Once upon a time, long long ago, the British soldiers came to the Benin part of Bendel(now know as edo state) and tried to make the Benin people their bitch. The Benin people resisted and chased them away and in retaliation, the British soldiers came back with more sophisticated weapons and invaded Benin. In the invasion, they found loads of art artifacts and natural resources like elephant tusks and stole almost everything.

Decades later Nigeria holla's at the Uk and begs them to loan them the Edo artifacts that they have an event and want to use the artifacts as a display. The British government says no. Nigeria then says they'd pay millions of pounds to rent it, still, the British people declined. They declined to loan us OUR STOLEN artifacts.

It just hit me that no one is talking about it, granted, the current British empire didn't do the stealing, their ancestors did. But, don't we think its about time that they returned OUR art resources. If truly we wanted to have it back our leaders could petition it and actually sue the British government and make them return it. As we all know, our government would rather face trivial issues like banning Shisha and approving child marriages.
