IS THE NIGERIAN GOD OMNIPRESENT?

16:44:00Opeyemi Famakin

While growing up, I was made to believe that God is an omnipresent God, Meaning that God is everywhere at the same time. But, as I grew older I was also made to believe that even though prayer and worship are good and should be done everywhere it’s best to be done in the Nigerian Church or Mosque.

In Nigeria, you could be a saint, you could be the holiest man who does the holiest deeds and gives alms to those in need, You could have a one on one relationship with God and be the most spiritual man to walk the face of the earth, But, if you don’t regularly to church or the mosque then you’re looked at and judged as a sinner.
Nigerians would make you believe that praying in your house isn’t as effective as praying in the church with the excuse of ‘where three or more are gathered the presence of God is blablabla”. That leaves me asking, Does the God Nigerians worship live in only Mosques and Churches? Does he not live in our hearts? Even if he lives in our hearts is he asleep and does he only wake when we go to the church or mosque?
