It’s been stipulated that the Catholic church slowed down science by a 100 years. Back in the medieval era, if any scientist made a discovery that went against the church they were killed, and for this reason most scientists went into hiding and inventions and discoveries were hidden and put to bed.

We assume this is a thing of the past but it’s still very much alive.

Let’s assume a woman is married to a man that’s physically and emotionally abusive, she’s told to pray about it that the man would change. This rarely never works. Let’s also assume a parent discovers that their child was dyslexic or schizophrenic, instead of taking the child for help they are told to pray about it that prayer would change the child’s case. Again, this rarely works.
Same goes for women who are believed to be barren. Instead of going for medical help they’d rather pray and fast about it and when they eventually go for medical help and give birth to triplets they give no credit to the doctor who helped them and say it was all God and the pastor.

God created the world. He created Doctors, He created psychologists, he created people and professions who can aid and help specific ailments and problems his children might come across. In Nigeria, we give pastors too much power and we take all sorts of problems to them. Problems that they usually have no business with and in return they tell you what they are trained to tell you, ‘Pray About It‘.
