If you’re a Nigerian youth who has a smartphone and is internet savvy and you have no idea about Davido lavishing his girlfriend Chioma with gifts, quickly give yourself 5 hot slaps. Davido and Chioma have been trending on the Nigerian internet space this week because he threw her a Lavish pre-birthday party, wrote a song called ‘Assurance’ for her and shot a video for it, threw a lavish birthday party, opened a restaurant for her, got her a Porsche car and is allegedly going to send her to a top-notch culinary school abroad.

For these various reasons Nigerian ladies have been shouting they also want their assurance and have been envying Davido’s girlfriend praying they find a man who would treat them exactly the way Davido treated Chioma. I say to these ladies, ‘Be careful about what you wish for, cuz you just might get it’.

Let’s dissect their relationship. Davido and Chioma have been dating for the past 5 years and within those 5 years, he’s had two kids with two different women. There’s an alleged third kid but there’s no proof to back that up. Also, countless numbers of times when he goes on tour he posts videos of him with women who he’s going to sleep with after the show, the most recent one was a video he posted late last year in South Africa where there was a big booty woman giving him a lapdance and he carried her to his room smiling and he locked the door. Imagine watching your boyfriend do that. For the past 5 years that they’ve been dating Davido has flaunted tons of women he’s had sexual relationships with and he never flaunted Chioma. As a woman how would you feel if your boyfriend flaunted everyone but you?

Five years later Davido ‘allegedly’ changes and starts to flaunt his babe lavishing her with gifts and now every Nigerian girl wants to have what Chioma is having. Can these same girls stay with a man who secretly cheats on them, talkless of one that openly flaunts his cheating and goes ahead to have kids with different women. Even while he’s going around being a Yoruba demon would you still stand by him and consistently cook for him and his friends (I will knock you if you say yes because I know you’re one of those feminists who say they won’t cook for a man or they don’t belong in the kitchen).

We need to stop the lives of Celebrities as our prayer point just because we only see the rosy parts of it. For every positive side, you see there are most likely 4 negative sides to counter it.
